I saw a young 17 year old girl get dragged to death while barrel racing in a Fourth of July horse show, and she was a professional.
              Her horse went down on the second barrel, her foot went through the stirrup, and the horse jumped up and went into a fast run.
              Men came running in from the stands from all directions but they could not get the horse stopped in time.
              The next morning I started looking for safety stirrups for my two daughters saddles. I could not find any that I would consider putting on their saddles, so this started the ball rolling.
              It took more than three years in development, hours of design, testing and redesign, and 21 useable prototype sets later before we arrived at the "SIDESTEP" Safety Stirrups.
              I started the design process by making out a list of requirements that the "SIDESTEP" Safety Stirrups had to meet before actual design began.
              The "Sidestep" are the only stirrups on the market today that meet all these safety and comfort features, because they are protected by two different patents.
